First Day is a psychiatric recovery program for individuals who have been hospitalized for emotional problems or are at risk of being hospitalized. The emphasis on treatment is to assist individuals in developing skills needed to maintain their living in the community. The program attempts to maximize the individual’s potential and abilities.
The program provides groups/activities that focus on client wellness. This model not only deals with psychiatric issues but with medical concerns that affect the individual’s overall physical well being.
There are two tracks in the program. The First Day track is for individuals with chronic and persistent mental illness. The second track, Transitions, is for individuals with a moderate psychiatric condition.
The First Day Program is located at 312 E. White Horse Pike, Absecon, NJ. Transportation is provided to and from program.
